Star Racer is a wonderfully energetic throwback to the golden age of futuristic racing, blending blistering speed with weapons, aerial gliding, energy management and a brilliant course editor. It occasionally lets its hazards become a little too chaotic, but beneath the explosions and retro visuals lies a genuinely enjoyable racer with plenty of personality and enough player creativity to keep the engines running.
